I stayed at a hotel in Rio de Janeiro that was surprisingly good value for money. The prices were a bit high, but compared to other available options, it was worth it. The rooms were basic but comfortable, with a double and single bed, and even a seating area. The hotel also provided free WiFi, which worked best in the long narrow hall of the room. The bathroom was spacious and had a large walk-in shower with high pressure and good temperature. The views from the hotel were fabulous, allowing me to enjoy the beauty of Rio. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable.
One aspect that could be improved was the lack of bar facilities in the hotel. However, there were good local bar options nearby, so it wasn't a big issue.

Great location, walking distance to Escadaria Selarón steps and tourist spots. Huge park in front of the hotel. Accessible to shops and train station. Great breakfast, clean rooms. Helpful and friendly English-speaking receptionist.
Can't fault the property in any way.

It's in a poor location, in area that is unsafe at night.
